Shining a light on epilepsy awareness and those who work to spread understanding of seizure disorders
Our Mission
By educating broader society on what it's like living with epilepsy, Light Up Epilepsy aims to end the stigma associated with epilepsy and difficult-to-treat seizures, foster conversations to promote inclusiveness, and shine a light on those achieving their dreams while living with epilepsy.

Stopping the stigma
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes different types of seizures. Living with epilepsy and managing the condition can affect life in many ways. Because epilepsy comes with varying degrees of consideration in daily life, it can lead to feelings of loneliness, sadness, depression, and isolation from others. This can be compounded for those living with rare forms of epilepsy or difficult-to-treat seizures. Just because a life with epilepsy looks a little different does not mean that life with epilepsy cannot be full. In fact, those with epilepsy are doing amazing things in the world. Likewise, there is a vibrant community of caregivers, healthcare providers, and passionate allies devoted to bringing epilepsy awareness and advocacy to the forefront to stop associated stigmas. The purpose of Light Up Epilepsy is to celebrate and amplify these voices.
